Contacting ForeFlight
Distance Finder (Routes)
If you enter a set of airport identifiers in the search box on the
home screen, our Smart Search™ system will detect that you are looking
for a route and automatically display the following route information:
- Total distance from the first to last waypoint
- Initial magnetic heading between waypoints
- Distance between waypoints
You can enter an unlimited number of airport identifiers. Any route you
search for will automatically appear underneath the 'Recent Routes' section on
your home screen. We currently display the last three routes you searched for.
E6B Flight Computer
ForeFlight does not currently provide E6B flight computer functions.
Europe
Will ForeFlight work in Europe on November 9th? The answer is "yes, but". Yes, the application
will work since it is delivered over the web. We provide weather for most major European airports,
but we do not have currently local area doppler radar or details for smaller European airports.
METARs, TAFs, Airport and Other Data
Textual weather and weather information is provided by the National Oceanic and Atmospheric
Association (NOAA), NAV Canada and Servicio Meteorlogico Nacional (Mexico). Time-lapse doppler on the weather pages is provided
by The Weather Underground. Textual weather is updated continuously and weather images
are updated at a minimum every five minutes. Some weather products are only updated
periodically by their respective providers.
The airport database is currently limited to the United States. This data is updated
periodically by the FAA. Our database is updated shortly after the FAA releases new
information. Textual weather is available for most major airports around the globe.
Ramp Check™ (N-Number Lookup)
If you enter an aircraft registration number (N-Number) in the search box on the
home screen, our Smart Search™ will detect that you are looking for an N-Number
and display the aircraft details automatically.
The aircraft registration data is produced by the Federal Aviation Administration (FAA).
Passwords
You can reset your password by clicking on the 'Password help' link at the bottom
of your home screen. Other links:
Smart Search™
The search box on the home screen is one of the most helpful ForeFlight features.
We call that box Smart Search™. You can enter an airport identifier (using
either IATA or ICAO identifiers), a set of airport identifiers (routes) or an aircraft registration
number. Smart Search™ tries to think like a pilot and uses your search criteria
to anticipate what you are looking for. It will then immediately
show you the right information.
If Smart Search™ is unable to figure out exactly what you are looking for, it
will ask you for clarification. For example, there is an airport with an identifier
of "10AK" and an aircraft with registration number "10AK". If you input "10AK" in
Smart Search™, it will detect this ambiguity and ask you which one you want.
Weight and Balance
ForeFlight does not make weight and balance calculations currently.
